Downing Street sign sold for £7,800 at auction

Downing Street Sign

A Downing Street sign has been sold for £7,800 at auction at Summers Places Auctions in Billingshurst, West Sussex.

It was part of a collection of London street signs auctioned, including one for Abbey Road made famous as the home of the recording studio used by The Beatles.

There were 362 signs available, with estimates ranging from £20 to £1,000 - an estimate far exceeded by the Downing Street sign.

StreetSignsDirect.co.uk manufacture custom London street signs, which are slightly smaller than those used on street, and are great as gifts or momentos when moving house. Any text can be requested, which will be positioned in accordance with the London street sign design.
